Sakura Matsuri
On April 4th Christie and I took a bus to Washington D.C. for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, Sakura Matsuri. Despite wind strong enough to blow over a porta-potty, and a less-than-awesome parade, we had a great time. There was a street festival with several blocks full of wonderful Japanese things, martial arts demonstrations, and musical performances from a traditional koto ensemble to kumi daiko to j-pop, and (though we had some trouble finding them), hundreds of cherry trees in full bloom.
There were probably more cameras in one place than I had ever seen, and people were striking all kinds of poses in front of all kinds of things, so instead of trying to wait for people to get out of my frame, I decided to take pictures of people taking pictures.

I THINK YOU’RE A CREEP. BUT YOU TAKE NICE PICTURES.
